We want you to continue to feel welcome at Morningside. We take pride in our open door policy. We consider it a privilege and an honor to be named by the state as the first "Family Friendly School". Being named a "Family Friendly School", we strive to keep our school environment parent friendly. There are many ways we keep Morningside Elementary Parent Friendly. One way is allowing parents to schedule their parent-teacher conferences at various times and anytime during the school year. We encourage parents to visit their child's classroom during the school day to learn the different strategies being taught. We also encourage our parents to have lunch with their children. Our administrators and teachers are always on hand to speak with parents. These are just a few ways Morningside encourages parents to become a part of their child's academic and school success.

Morningside has many ways you can lend a hand or voice your input on school matters. Parents are encouraged to be chaperones for field trips, Georgia Milestones test proctors, classroom helpers, room parents, student tutors, or to serve on the Parent Action Team (PAT).

Parents please do keep in mind that all volunteers must have a volunteer clearance on file. This background clearance is good for five years. If you do not have a volunteer clearance, please contact Mrs. Mason(Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator). She will be happy to assist you in completing this process.

Parent Resource Room

A resource room is also available to Parents. The resource room is the first room on the left upon entering the building. The room is open from 8:00-4:00 daily. This room is full of resources for parents including parenting books and pamphlets, Title 1 information, etc. This room is also used for volunteer orientation and various Parent Meetings.
